CHS Girls Take Regional Golf Title
Clinton High School’s Lady Horses faced seven different schools for the Regional golf title. Without fail, Clinton performed superbly and took out the competition with a team score of 279 to win their first title in school history.
Head coach Eddie Gray said “The girls played some of the best golf they have played all year at regionals. The girls are in great spirits and looking forward to the challenge at state. We will need two days of excellent golf to have a chance. So proud of how well they have played at the end of the season when it really matters.”
The five seniors advance to the State Two Day Championships: Kenzy Yang, Ava Williford, Caroline Holland, Sofia Fleury & Kamryn Worley. They’ve been together since they were freshmen and now the fruits of their labor have blossomed this season. With the state title on the line, the Lady Horses will be focused as they are hoping to add some more hardware to the trophy case in the halls of CHS. “At this point the girls are playing a few holes each day The team will leave for Charlotte on Saturday, play a practice round on Saturday and Sunday in preparation for the finals on Monday and Tuesday. (October 30-31)”
