News from the Superintendent
Well, we have made it to February, and we are still very wet. Almost 4 inches of rain in January has kept playing conditions quite poor. Hopefully, we will dry out soon and we can get back to normal. I did some spraying last month to try to eradicate the Poa around and on the greens. Results should begin to show in another couple weeks. I will also be spraying preemergent this month for control of summer weeds. My staff and I will also be doing some projects this month to cure some sore spots around the course. These will include cart path repair on #6, tree removal on #16, and continued cleanup of leaves and pine straw around the course. The board of directors has given the approval for a new equipment lease to be filled in the coming months. We will be getting some new and used equipment that will allow us to do more around the course and give my staff and I the opportunity to grow as a team. We are looking forward to a better year with ever improving conditions. We hope everyone continues to enjoy the golf course and its amenities to their fullest. Thank you all for your support. Sincerely, Kevin McCamy, GCS
