NEWS FROM THE POOL

Hello from the pool manager and lifeguards!

It’s hard to believe, but August is here! We are thrilled that so many of you are enjoying the pool as the summer continues. We have had a LOT of people enjoying the pool this summer, and we love it!

July 4th at the Coharie pool was fun! We had lots of adults and children out here all day, and everyone seemed to enjoy all the games, activities, and refreshments the pool staff had planned. I’m sure everyone – especially the lifeguards – slept well that night!

We have had several pool parties this year and several more have been scheduled, The pool is a great place to have any kind of party, so schedule your party now, Time is slipping away!

Please remember to sign in your guests (and yourself) when visiting the pool. It is a safety and security issue, so we appreciate it.

The water aerobics classes have been a huge hit. If you want to join water aerobics from 10:00-11:00 on Mondays and Wednesdays, you can just show up, The cost for six classes is $30 for members and $45 for non-members.

The last day the pool will be open full-time will be on Sunday, August 22. The pool will be closed August 23-27 (back to school), and August 30-Sept. 3, but we will be open on weekends: August 28, 29, and September 4, 5, and 6 (Labor Day).

Special thanks go to Yvonne Rackley who volunteers and spends hours in the broiling sun to keep the entrance to the pool landscaped and attractive, Mrs. Yvonne also furnishes all the pretty plants that make the pool area look good. Thank you!!

I want to give a shout-out to our college freshmen lifeguards - Zana (to NCSU), Olivia (to USC), Michaelah (to NCSU), and Jacob (to NCSU). They will all be leaving for college in mid-August, and we are going to miss them! A lot!! They have all done a fantastic job as lifeguards this summer, and we wish them the best as they head off to college.

Make the most of these remaining summer days…we hope to see you at the Coharie pool!
