On September 19 Coharie CC hosted a qualifier for the North Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship. It is a major event for men 25 years and older. This year the championship will be held at Cutter Creek Country Club in Snow Hill on September 30-October 2. There were 48 players attempting to qualify at Coharie. There were 11 players who qualified including medalist Corbett Cummings of Pikeville who fired a score of 67 from the blue tees. Congratulations to all of the qualifiers and especially Mr. Cummings.
