Autumn greetings from the pool! Although the pool is officially closed for the year, I did want to let you all know about a wonderful new addition to the pool…pool railings for the brick steps! Debbie Nance Miller (sister of Bill Nance, Jack Nance, Jean Nance Earman, and me) has generously donated the (much-needed) railings, and we are sooo appreciative! Debbie grew up right here by the #1 fairway and was also a pool lifeguard "back in the day." When she and her children and grandchildren were here this summer, they spent a lot of time at the pool and on the golf course, and Debbie realized the railings were really needed. When she got back to her home in Tennessee, she texted me to ask about them. I told her we really needed them, and she said, "I want to get some for the pool and pay for them." Of course, I was thrilled and said, "Wow. That would be great!" So I called H.N. Carr Construction, and Phillip Andrews and Brad Hales made it happen. I could not be more pleased, and next summer you all will be able to enjoy the attractive AND SAFE railings.
