MEET STEVE & DONNA WIECHMAN

Please meet Steve Wiechman, our new General Manager. He was previously at Pine Valley Country Club in Wilmington. He is married and his wife’s name  is Donna. Steve is a third generation golf professional with over 30 years of teaching experience. He combines old school golf fundamentals with modern day tech solutions by utilizing a Mevo flight scope paired with video to analyze your swing.

Steve is a graduate of Virginia Tech in Turf and Turfgrass Management. He began his career at Tugg Valley Country Club in Williamson, WV as the Pro, the Superintendent, and General Manager. It was a club of 350+ members. He was there from 1992 thru 1996. He then worked in the private sector from 1996-2018 starting two successful companies. He then decided to get back into the golf business accepting the job as Assistant Pro at Pine Valley where he has been for 7 years.

He is a club fitter and repair specialist, advance user to USGA GHIN handicap system, and has experience with all kinds of golf events.

On a more personal level his grandfather was a contemporary of Sam Sneed with whom he competed on several occasions. His grandfather won the West Virgina Open four time. His father attended Wake Forest where he competed with Arnold Palmer for number one spot on the golf team. Steve and his father built Echo Farms Country Club in Wilmington where Steve learned the finer points of turf grass management and course design.
